    Video card question

In order to play a game I just got, I need a new video card. According to the game specs, the card needs to be "Video: 64 MB video card with Hardware T&L support" , but in searching card specs I can find no mention of T&L.

Can anyone tell me if a Diamond Stealth - ATI Radeon 9250
Cinematic 2D/3D Graphics Card will do the trick? A friend has offered me one at a reasonable rate but I'd hate to install it just to find that it was a waste of effort.

The game is Sid Meier's Pirates if that helps at all.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

The ATI Radeon 9250 definitely have hardware transform & lighting support.

Depend on which version of the Stealth, those with the S3 chip are dogs. Some have the Nvidia chip which is worth a look, but there's no updated driver any more.

Hardware T&L support have been standard on all cards for 5 years now.
All DX7 cards and above support it.
You sould try and aim higher then the minimum specs of the game.
    C2Q 6700 - Asus P5Q turbo
    4G RAM OCZ - 1T HD Seagate
    Sapphire 4870 512MB - LG DVD RW
    Antac 300 - Corsair 550W - Logitech G5

    Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I know a higher end card would be better but this one was offered at a great price so it will do for now. I just wanted to make sure it would work.

Hopefully someday I can have a real gaming machine
