    Trouble Booting up

I own a Dell Dimension with Windows XP on it. I upgraded mm Internet Explorer from 5.0 to 7.0 this morning. Now when I boot up my PC everything looks okay where my Desktop w/icons appear, but the the hourglass appears and I am locked from doing anything. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve? I would simply uninstall my upgrade, but I cannot get into my Control Panel to do it. thanks

Sorry, I am new to the site and didn't know which section it would fall under.

    Did the configuration script run?

Try booting into safe mode (F8)

I think it did. It looked like everything was fine because my desktop page appeared with all my icons, but the hourglass would not stop.

When do I hit F8 and once in Safe Mode what will I do? Thanks
