    Remember the Xbox

    http://game-spectrum.com/content/view/638/134/

A lot of us might consider it a subpar console. But you have to admit that Microsoft would be in deep squat if it failed. It held its own quite admirably against the PS2, a true giant among consoles. Although it was really just an X86 machine in a shell, that was a good thing indeed.

Here's a little history, you might notice its a little constipated. It was quite a painful existence I admit. Many of its games were really solid and are truly the lifeblood of the black brick. Due to a solid 'true' GPU, many people chose to play multiplatform games on the 360 instead. Im quite sure anyone of us can remember a game tha that sealed our pact with the system besides Halo.

For me it was Ninja Gaiden (although I didn't buy it due to being strapped for cash) and Full Spectrum Warrior (ditto).

Edit: Oh yeah, its not even useless after its death. I know the number of people using XBMC is pretty large.

XBMC sealed the sale for me and I still use it almost daily. My two favorite games for the system are Ninja Gaiden and Panzer Dragoon Orta.

The Xbox was a great console.

Granted, if you already had a PS2, there weren't a huge number of exclusives that would probably make you buy one, but on the flipside, owning a Xbox before a PS2, I didn't get around to getting a Ps2 until last Christmas.
For almost all 3rd party, multi-platform releases, the Xbox version was usually superior.
For most titles, if I had to choose between the Xbox or PS2 versions, the Xbox version would win most of the time.

xbox > ps2 for me... I never even considered buying one. After my first Halo experience I was sold. My black box is still up and running, mainly because it gives my brother something to do since my 360 is at my gf's I came home last night and schooled his *** in 3 round, 25 kill no radar slayer fragfest. Once the sniper rifle is acquired his *** is giblets We will NEVER get old of that and I plan on keeping my box down in my basement for awhile!

I got the XBOX when it went down to $150. Had a lot fun playing Ninja Gaiden, Forza, PGR2, Halo, DOA, and a bunch of other fighting games. I still haven't played Fable.

Edit: not sure why I wrote fighting. I meant to write racing games.

I don't know about Fable on the Xbox, but I enjoyed Fable on the PC. After that game I made my wife and kids call me 'Hero' anytime they addressed me.
Currently Playing: DOTA 2, XCOM Enemy Unknown

I'm still thinking about picking one up, because most of the games I want to play on it aren't BC on the 360 and I'm not holding out hope that they will get on the list any time soon. Plus, they're cheap as hell now on ebay, I'm thinking about going for one of the limited edition crystal ones (released in Canada, and I think maybe Europe). Definitely want to try out Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Raze's Hell, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Probably something I'm forgetting, too.

In real life, I make a ton of pies. I got a big book on pies that has a bunch of different kinds, and I used to make at least a pie a week just to get better at doing it.

Imagine my happiness in finding out that one of the first titles you can get in Fable is Pie Master. I still remember the voices of little children as I run past - "I've seen you eating pie. I KNOW you're the pie master!"

I bought one to mod it and ended up really liking a lot of the games. Most were mentioned here, Ninja Gaiden, Halo, etc.
