    Question AMD Price Drops?

Any feel as to when AMD will lower there CPU prices? I also heard the 1.4 is due out within the month. This is the last thing I need before upgrading my out system.

I don't know, but the prices are pretty low right now. Just a month or two ago the 1.2ghz 200FSB Thunderbird was $263, and now it us about $190, and the new 1.33ghz 266FSB Thunderbird is only $215!

    I'm waiting for the Palimino.

AMD has been quietly lowering their prices in response to Intel's price slashes. If I remember correctly, the 1.33GHz T-Bird is $265 in quantities of 1000. For comparison, the 1.3GHz P4 is $268.

Next month AMD will cut prices, it is not offical yet, but if Intel has a p$ 1.7 ghz at 350 bucks, AMD will have to respond.

Can you smell a 1.33 ghz thunderbird in bulk for 199, I do.
