    Post Cable modem / network

I am running ME on my main PC. I installed a NIC - then had cable installed. I then installed another NIC in the main PC cabling it to the hub and connected to my other PC's. I used ME's network connection and everything worked fine. I was able to connect to the internet with all PC's and connect to all other PC's. I used it this way for about 10 days. Then something happened!!! Since calling the cable tech - I am not able to connect my other PC's to the internet. The network is working fine. The main PC can connect but none of the others. What could have changed to do this. I would appreciate any help that I can get.

The cable company is probably blocking access. They want to charge you for access by more than one PC.

The cable company gives you one IP address. It shouldn't be able to tell how many PC's are using it. Did the problem happen before or after you called the cable tech? Run through your ME ICS settings on each PC again to make sure nothing changed.

If I read your connection right, NIC1 in the main PC is connected to the cable modem and NIC2 is connected to the hub. The NICs in the other PCs are connected to the hub.

Sounds like ICS in the main PC somehow got messed up. Try making one of the other PC's the main PC (connected to the hub and modem) and see if you have the same problems.

@home can use a either a static IP or a host ID (usually a C##### or CC#####) to issue you a dynamic IP. Road runner on the other hand is pure Dynamic and it uses your NIC cards MAC address to identify your computer. they way around this on a router is call them up tell them you changed computers or a nic and give them the routers MAC rather then the NICs.
