Need special remote control designed for audio

My parents are looking to get an audio system setup for outside around their pool and they put me in charge. My thoughts were to use my pre-existing server in their household to where all they have to do is load in a CD and it will automatically rip it to the hard drive where then it can be controlled by some device remotely. I've posted about the outdoor speakers that will be used in the other forums, but I need some sort of device that will be able to control the music on the server. Be able to create playlists, search for songs, etc, and have it all displayed on the remote. My friend has the Logitech Wireless DJ, however he claims it's glitchy and he doesn't like it, so I think I'm going to rule that out.

I'm not sure if this is something that would work. You would have to have a network connection next to the box.

Ok, what i think I'm going to do is buy PlayerPal for itunes and then have a PDA with WiFi to control itunes. But, I need a PDA with WiFi! Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap PDA with WiFi. The cheaper the better...not looking for performance here. Thanks in advanced.
