aaarrrgghhh.... Gawd I need some help!

I've been trying to assemble a new pc over the last three nights with way too much of a problem.

I'm installing an FIC AZ11 M/B with an Creative Labs Annihalator Pro 32 MB GeForce card and a Sound Blaster Live value. A Duron 800 and 128 megs. I'm using Win98 (first edition) and fresh drivers from all of the sites.

My problem is this: All of my 2D apps seem to run fine, BUT, as soon as I run a game, it's guaranteed to lock up within a few minutes. This happens with both Unreal, NaPali, and Q3. When it locks up, the screen freezes, it goes into an endless sound loop and the keyboard is dead. Also, about 10% of the time, the PC refuses to find the CD-Rom. I've tried 3 different CD cables, and it still happens. So far, I've formatted 4 different times and my last load was just the OS, drivers, and video card set at AGP 1x and it still locked. I didn't even have a sound card installed yet.

Is this time for me to get an RMA and return what may be a defective board? Or, am I just missing something here?
