if u dont wanna go Nvidia route , than my frank opinion will be to wait for 9500/9500pro , or get a Regular 8500 128meg.

There are a few coming out this Christmas, there's the 9500, 9500pro, 9700, 9700pro, and finally the AIW 9700 Pro (that's the one that I'm gonna get, heh heh). But, only the 9700pro is out, so as of today, your best bet is to get another 8500.

The R9500 Pro should be ~$200 when actually start selling. But then they're not all that much faster than even a Ti4200, and the Ti4200 are cheap. so if you want the DX9 maybe look for the R9500 Pro, otherwise the Ti4200 would be better, but you don't want any nVidia cards... So get a R8500 128MB BBA if you want to spend a bit less for less performance.
