    Can I put pc2700 in a pc2100 supported board?

I have this board http://www.aopen.com/products/mb/ax4b-533.htm It says it supports pc1600 or pc2100.

Can I put pc2700 in this motherboard and it will just down clock to pc2100?

You know like you can put pc133 in a pc100 motherboard, that kind of idea.

I found a good deal on a stick of 512 pc2700 and someone wants to buy my 256 pc2100 but I have to know if it works first.

Yes, the concept doesn't change with DDR. PC2700 is just rated to run up to a 166MHz memory bus. It can more handle a 133MHz bus.

WOW right on! I did not even know if they had the same number of pins I guess pc2700 would be alot better for overclocking too.

Do I have to take out my 256 pc2100 or can I mix them also?

You should be able to mix them, but if you try to o/c or adjust the memory timings, you will run into limitation on the slower module before the PC2700 module tops out.
