    Build my own external Watercooler!

Ok, i think im going to attempt to build an external cooler. I have a LianLi pc65 case thats really cramped so space is super limited. Im going to encase the whole thing in acrylic, so far these are the parts im going to use, let me know your opinions!! im on a budget too

    xoxide.com Radiation Reservoir/Pump $60.00
    2 120mm green uv reactive fans $6
    directron.com Swiftech RAD676 Radiator for Dual 12cm Fans $36.00
    newegg.com 2x120mm Fan Filters $12.50
    dangerden.com MAZE4SHD $50.45
    ClearFlex 60 tubing

    total about $165.00
plus acrylic peice from home depot $5.50

whole system will be 3/8" tubing, i beleive that this will help slow the water down a bit for more heat absorption, the only thing i might change is the pump.

Sounds like a very sweet setup. The only thing I don't like too much is the pump/res combo. I really don't know how that would work out. I am fond of the Hydor L30 myself. I use two in my watercooling setup

I don't have much to offer in answering your questions, but I would love to see you make a project log about this. I've been considering something simillar myself.

yeah i think i might use the hydor to be safe and just get a spiffy round acrylic resivour to match the casing im building for it. ill post a bunch of pictures when i get this thing started!!

well, since you're going for cheap, have you considered making an evaporative cooling tower instead of a radiator? Just get a submersible pump and leave it in the bottom, have a couple fittings set into the side of the tower, and go crazy that way.

Up-side is that it cools better than any rad you'll ever find, able to give water temps below ambient.

The gloves come off. I eliminate all competition. I am a focused AMD killing machine right now. While I wait for my computer to show up, I am mentally packing my go to war kit for my upcoming battle with all who stand in my way.

Hrm, I wonder if you'll buy the EE chip beforehand so you can just slap it in

Have you decided what kind of or size that your external case will be?

You can get a Chevy chevette heatercore for cheaper and it will work a lot better. As for tubing size, I'd go 1/2 inch instead. More flow is better for waterblocks. The only place that low flow may be better is in the radiator, but the heatercore still works better than the swifty at higher flow rates. Also, if you add a gpu and nb waterblock, it won't hurt so much.

Don't go for the really cheap pumps. I tried to use a dolphin dp560. It was about 40 bucks and it died quickly. I live in Japan and the pump cannot handle 100 vac, 50 cycle. It seized after about half an hour and took another fifteen minutes to cool down to where it would work again. It does move a lot of water though. I am currently testing an Eheim 1048. It seems to move enough water.
    ah, can I try again??
