If I was buying a low end gaming laptop I would want a WXGA, but if I was buying something to do office application type work on, I would get the WSXGA. The WUXGA is just a bit much for such a small screen.

Well, if you're working with programs that need a lot of screenspace, the 1920x1200 is a godsend, for me it's superb for programming.

Simply up the default text size, and you have a wonderful amount of screen real estate, and readable text.

Dreamweaver, Photoshop, PHP, maybe some C# coding, general office apps, lots of internet browsing. Probably no gaming.

So it's a choice between the WSXGA and WUXGA. Won't the upping of the fontsize mess up web pages, especially since I have to preview them @ 1024x768. If the normal fonts on the WUXGA is a bit unreadable, then it would be a no-go?

You should be fine. Even if the font is a little small, it will still be sharp enough to read. You should be fine. I would always recommend the maximum screen resolution possible.

Windows is not very good at upscaling/downscaling so you'll probably have to stick with the normal size to make sure it all works ok, however I think for your use you'd find the extra resolution useful, especially for any coding.

Really? I thought the 120dpi fonts on Windows looked ok... I guess I'm not as picky as some.

They look messy, I initially used my 8600 WUXGA screen at this setting as that's what it shipped with, couldn't believe how much better it looked when I switched it down to normal. This is something Vista is supposed to do a lot better.
