Low budget gaming components.
Alright, I'm upgrading my gaming system with a new Mobo, CPU (and heatsink), Vid card, and Memory
my budget is $700
The four things I listed are the ONLY things I need, I've got a nice case, HDD, optical drives, mouse/keyboard, speakers and monitor from my last round of upgrades.

soltek nf3 250gb mobo(forgot the model name)
a64 3200 s754
1gb pc3200 kingston value ram
a 7800gt video card
(if you're not gaming at higher resolution or using much fsaa, then you can cut back to a x800xl and get a faster processor)

That won't work, there are no AGP 7800s.
I would get:
Chaintech VNF4 - $74 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813152053
Venice 3000+ (at least as fast, if not faster than a newcastle 3200+) - $146 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103537
1gb RAM - $80 - no link, because prices change daily. Just get a brand name kit.
7800gt - $350 after MIR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143037

in a sense, but all that headroom easily gets used up if you crank all the eye candy/high res/fsaa/af/ adaptive fsaa. also like next year if he needs more cpu power, he could upgrade to a 4000+ or something when the prices have dropped considerably.
i dont even know what i was talking about earlier. i guess it pays to get some sleep every now and then -___-

Kappa?
Oh, and the $50 goes to the heatsink, since my old one doesn't support Socket 939
