Unhappy A low tone clicking sound?

I just finished my new computer, just one problem. I think its the ide cables or the hard drive. The sound is a low tone click sound and the hard drive stops. Did i break the wires in the ide cable and its shorting?
this happens every so often. Everything runs fine when it doesn't click. I am running a raid 0 on a kr7a-raid board. can anyone help me with this one?

Double check the wires for carmel smell and browning.
BUT ,if the sound is coming from the harddrive and from what you describe it is .
The the harddrive is FUBARED RMA it and get another one.

funny hard drive sounds are not good....they're even worse when you notice poor performance when it's making odd sounds....my guess is you have a bad/dying hard drive, and an RMA is in order
