Win98 takes a long time to load
Ok,as the title says,my Win98 takes about 6min to load(you know,it shows the Win98 logo etc) and it's quite annoying. I think this started after I got my DSL installed, a ethernet card thinga ma jiggy was installed and some drivers. My comp's specs are : 600mhz Celeron,192MB RAM,10GB HD..ask if you need any other info, and please help me get this fixed.

I think its Win98 SE actualy,if it makes any diference, and the DSL has a dynamic IP.

You could also be experiencing delays in DHCP response. THat is how you get your Dynamic IP address as your machine boots... and if your NIC is requesting DHCP info, and not getting it, it will keep polling for DHCP info until it either:
1) Time out.
or
2) recv's the info.
Try removing your NIC, and de-installing your networking. THen boot your machine.
If it boots quiclky it is likely a networking issue with the Card. I wouldn't go to the resource conflict route just yet, but do make sure you are using the most current drivers for your NIC, and do not install the card next to the video card (that is almost always a resource conflict).
