Can't get wireless bridge on internet...

Hi all, I'm trying to get my old Belkin router to work as a wireless bridge. The router is a F5D7230-4 (version 2000) and my primary router/modem is the ATT 2WIRE 2701HG-B.

Right now I'm able to wirelessly connect to the Belkin, however I cannot get on the internet. If I use a wire to connect the Belkin to the 2WIRE then I'm able to get on the internet, but it cannot access it with wireless. I believe the DHCP on the 2WIRE is assigning an IP to the Belkin as I'm unable to connect directly to the Belkin (it was ip 168.192.2.253 but I cannot log into it anymore with this IP). I'm also able to see the laptop connected through the Belkin when looking at devices on the 2WIRE.

On the Belkin, I'm using the following settings. I disabled DHCP and assigned it an IP of 192.168.2.253 (the 2WIRE reserves .254). I configured it to be Wireless Bridge and have tried both typing in a MAC access point and leaving it open. I have finally set up the wireless to use the same channel (6), assigned it a different SSID, and set up the security to match the 2WIRE (WPA-PSK).

Shortly after I do this, I'm able to access the Belkin using the .253 IP, but it does not show up as a device under the 2WIRE. As I said above, if I connect them via wire, I can see the laptop connected to the Belkin under the 2WIRE and can get on the internet....just can't when that connection isn't there.

Am I missing something?? I've set the Belkin up a dozen times and have had no luck! I haven't updated the firmware yet...I was worried that might disable the ability to use it as a wireless bridge.

Does the Belkin has Client Bridge Mode?

If the Belkin has Bridge Client mode.

The two devices has to be on the same subnet.

Both should be on the same channel and same SSID.

The Wireless MAC address of the primary Router has to be type into the Belkin otherwise it does not know that it is suppose to connect to it.

Start first with the Wireless Security Off on both Routers, and switch it On only after it works.

I do not about the Belkin, but most old Wireless can do only WEP in Bridge Mode even if otherwise they are WPA capable.
