I played with it after reading this. Right click on a game and select "Set Category". You can then create a new category, or select an existing one.

Notes:

1. You cannot rename or delete categories. If you screw up the name, or want to rename it, you have to create a whole new category and move the game from one to the other.
2. You have to click and set each category one at a time. No bulk management.

Pretty sure you can delete but you can't rename.
