    Which hard drive?

I have stuff backed up all over the place so decided to get an external storage device so I can centralize all my back ups. Plus I have my movie/TV collection on my network storage device and losing that would be a major pain in the back side. I ordered a 4 bay USB3.0/eSATA enclosure. It is non RAID. I decided that since it will be mostly static storage I did not need it. In the past I would just get the best price/gig WD cavier black drive and not give it a second thought. But with HD prices staying ridiculous I was looking for a less expensive option.

    Honestly, go 3TB.

You'll feel much better about the cost/GB (They are around $150). If you have to stick with 2TB drives, get the RED, it's designed for NAS solutions.

I would go Red. These two drives are basically the same but the Red drives are built to last longer. This is according to WD of course so it with a grain of salt.

I got a 2 TB Red drive. Payed ~140 for it. That is not too bad a price/TB ratio but still not even close to what I payed pre flood. Hopefully, it will keep me in back up space until prices get more reasonable. I have already been seeing a few specials like 30USD off a 2 TB black drive on Newegg.
