Great White Shark
Mr. Green goes Blue
Most of you know I've never owned a Intel system. Well due to AMD not being able to provide a suitable gaming CPU that is about to change.
My Phenom x4 [email protected] has been running since 2007 and is still handling most of my gaming needs without any issues but that said I am starting to notice a CPU bottleneck in my games. 5 years is a looooong time for a system and I've decided its time to move on.
I ordered the follow components today.
Mainboard - MSI Z77 MPOWER
Intel® Core™ i7-3770K
RAM - Kingston HyperX DIMM 16 GB DDR3-1600 Quad-Kit
Cooling - Corsair Hydro Series H80
I'm looking forward to adding those parts to my current build
Corsair CSSD-F120GB2
Western Digital WD2003FYYS 2TB (X2)
GTX660ti
and going from there.
When and if AMD comes out with a CPU that allows me to game the way I want, I'll gladly move back. But for now... call me Mr. Blue

Awesome.
On behalf of Intel fans, I welcome you to our side.

On behalf of performance fans, I welcome you to the current leader in desktop performance.
I'm really hoping that the new advancements that Anand mentioned in his podcast will come true in the next year or so. A competitive AMD would be much better than the current gen "Let's relive the P4 days from the wrong side of the fence" AMD we are stuck with.

Its up and running... Stable at 4.2 GHz @ 39°C with one single push of a button. Only thing I'm not happy with is how loud the H-80 is, but I found a step by step guide on making it quieter... not going to mess with it ATM though.
Sigh now to re-install all this crap...

I really can not say a single bad thing about my Phenom. It ran everything I threw at it for a very long time. And let me save enough money up over the years to go big this time around.

No, *MY* new girlfriend!~
Wurm with an Intel processor. All we need now is Mikey with a 680. Although I think he did have a 670. So maybe there isn't anything to compare Wurm switching to =x

LOL yeah. Oh well, maybe AMD will pull a rabbit out of a hat again sometime in the near future, but for now I'm very happy.
I also love my new case...
