Hammerhead Shark
Looks like a video issue, possibly hard drive too. Does the mobo have onboard video that you can use instead of the card? If that doesn't help try popping in a different hard drive or even removing the hard drive and booting to a disc-based linux OS.

I would first check all of the hardware connections. If all is seated securely, I'd try the video on the mobo. If that works, then its most likely your gfx card. If not, then I'd look at your HDD. I would also test the monitor on another device.

tried two different monitors. tried two different gfx cards an 8800 gt and a 4850 radeon.
there is no onboard graphics for this motherboard.
You also mentioned the HD, would a hard provide these sort of errors?

glad you fixedd the error. Unfortunately the complexities of computers may cause ANY part (hardware OR software) to cause conflicts. I recently bought 16GB of Corsair XMS DDR3 ram and it arrived (brand new) as faulty. The initial image on the screen is just of your bios. Your HDD will not do anything until all of the checks of the system have completed, then it wil boot from your device (usually your HDD). If you can, buy all of your parts via newegg.com. My first cual core was faulty (overheated) so I shipped it back to them overnight and newegg paid for my return shipping cost (along with replacement shipping costs).
