My AV suite wants me to uninstall my other (paid) security programs before updating

I'm not sure what to think of this: My Avira (paid) security suite just issued a big update whose installer has identified other paid security programs on my PC (MalwareBytes, SpyHunter 4) and is asking me to ininstall them. Is this:

    i. A cynical competitive marketing move that I should ignore and install the Avira update without uninstalling the other programs

ii. A valid warning of a valid conflict that I should heed.

The Avira Avira tech support guy says that the OS cannot handle conflicting security programs and such conflicts, if not eliminated, might mess with my PC's performance. Hmm. I'm not going to uninstall my other security programs; I've paid for them and like them. But I like Avira too. Advice? Thanks.

It dependents on how the other Programs are set.

If they are configured as scanners to scan on demand, then you can probably ignore the remark.

However, as a general rule it is a bad idea to run more than one Live (I.e., On and intercepts Network/Internet traffic all the time) App.

Make a choice and run Live one Firewall, one AV, and one Malware at the same time.

That is very good advice, thank you. Do you think there would be a conflict between an always-on live AV program (Avira) and an always-on live AM program (Malwarebytes)? I use SpyHunter 4 only to run a nightly AM/AS scan, it's not set to monitor my system.

There might be a conflict, but the ral issue is the interfering with the Network traffic that might slow it down and Destabilized the Network.

In addition, using more than one app of a similar nature does not really improve security.

many of the AV programs (Panda, CCillin) would find norton (shtmantec) as a virus. I wouldn't worry though.

If your Malwarebytes is the free version then it does not actively scan and is only active when you manually start a scan, (unless your still in the 30 day trial of the Pro version) so there is no need to be concerned with having that along with Avira.

My Malwarebytes is the paid version. It is set to active (i.e. always-on) scan. I use Spyhunter4 to run a scan every evening (during which it always finds and eliminates 50 - 80 low-level adware/malware threats.) Spyhunter is not set to live-scan, as I suspect setting both programs to do this would present conflicts, not to mention overtaxing resources and being overkill. I have reversed this (i.e. set SH4 to live scan, MB to daily scan) but the way I've got it working now does not appear to create problems.
