 installing heatsink
I'm about to attach a heat sick to my athlon 1.4. Can I have a little information on how to do this? On the suface of the chip are 4 spongy circles raised above everything else on the chip. What are these and should I take them off before putting on the heatsink? thanks!
If someone has a clever handle tell me.

No..they're there so the HSF won't crush the core!!

What do I put the thermal paste on then?

Put your thermal paste, on the small raised square in the center of your CPU. nowhere else. for a large capacity CPU, I strongly suggest you use Arctic Silver II thermal paste

yep that should be fine. newbies can cause alot of mess with arctic silver 2 especially if they spill it on their bridges
