Quake 3 and DX8: Texture errors?
I installed Team Arena and Dx8 within a short time of each other, so I'm not sure which causes this problem, but now I'm getting the black and white grid on some surfaces in Q3 (like water) and bullets look like black and white squares. ***? Anybody else having this prob?

If you are playing quake with OpenGL, I'd suggest to reinstall the drivers.

Yes. Also depending on your video card you might want to update your Open GL drivers. They sometimes come from 3rd parties. Check www.glsetup.com Download a small (like 150K) program taht willl determine what your video card is and will download and install GL drivers for you.

Tried that, installed the 6.31 NVIDIA refrence drivers, no avial. Exactly the same shitty texture problems. Also updated to the latest patch q3 1.27g. No help. Any other ideas????????

Ditch the team arena! The 1.27 patch is beta!! I am gonna wait until it is the final deal before I go to 1.27, for now I will stay at 1.17, but then you can't run team arena Tough Decision there bro

What texture quality are you running? I have a GF2 MX and when i set the texture to 32bit it looks like crap, Well i really only notice it in the sky. In 16bit it looks fine.I heard that there is something wrong with the texuring drivers and that nvidia is working on it.

The textures are almost all normal, in 16 bit or 32 bit. It's only the bullet textures from the first gun and certain walls and water that look like 256 colors... everything else looks normal.
