Yes sony makes great monitors and I think tehy are worth the extra bucks.
I suggest do a google search with the type and review in the google bar. Something will show up.

I was exclusively a Sony monitor user for many years and was a big supporter of their products. However, after researching VERY extensively last summer, in regards to purchasing a new monitor, I decided Sony wasnt the best choice any longer. There were far too many reviews and situations where people got bad monitors, or had reliability issues with Sony's, and this even included their top of the line $1000+ units. The most disconcerting part was that they usually were bad right out of the box! This really isnt acceptable at the premium price point they occupy, at least not as far as I was concerned.
I would suggest that you look at the Samsung 900NF, which is an outstanding monitor, with great reliability and a tremendous record for build quality and picture quality. NEC also offers fine products in the 950 series, but the Samsung looked as good or better than anything I checked out, and was a bargain.

Definitely. I always buy SONY (TVs, stereo equipment, etc.) and have never had a problem. I have a 19" GS monitor and love it. Can't beat the colors.
The lines aren't a big deal to me, you only notice them, if you notice them at all, on solid white backgrounds. Other than that, you would have to look to find them. It's like anything else, once you are used to it, you don't see it. Like the clutter in the corner of the room!

I have the same exact monitor. Yes there are two lines, and yes they aren't really visible unless you look really hard or it's on a white background. Even then it's not bad at all.
I love this monitor. It's very crisp and very clear. I haven't had a single problem or complaint with it. Sure Samsung makes some great monitors that are usually cheaper, but I've also enjoyed the smaller size that my Sony is. It fits a lot better on my desk.
