I'm about level 9 now I think, played a bunch last night after picking the game up last week. Great game, but dear god it's a sticky navmesh, you get stuck in/on everything! I keep running into trees that look like they're a foot to my left or right, or you end up trying to run up a hill and sliding back down... I realize they need to put constraints in but damn.

Punkbuster might do more harm than good. It's been out for so long you'd think they would improve it from time to time. I just installed it even though I bought it last week, hoping I don't have too much trouble with punkbuster or any other aspects of the game. I'll play some this weekend. I should pick it up pretty quick. Shoot bad guys? No prob.

This game was reallllly popular, like in July (or around there) for about 45 days and then everyone just stopped playing it about the same time.
I've put a few hours into the game now (20+) and I don't understand the hype. Most games like this I just ignore all the hype but the popularity of this game was really crazy for a while, and I saw people playing the game that don't normally play these types of games. So I bought it recently when it was $17. I'm def happy with it for $17 but even people who payed full price for the game were really positive about it still. I dunno, I guess I just don't see what makes it stand out. It's def not bad though, don't get me wrong.
But since everyone I know stopped playing by the time I bought it, I've only been playing with random people, and playing with random people in PC games these days ain't so hot. It's all about co-operation these days, and games get a lot funner when you're playing with people you know.
I haven't heard one person use voice chat in my 20+ hours of play, which I find pretty odd. Maybe it's not set up right.
The game also suffers from lack of admins. Battlefield is the kind of game that needs constant baby sitting, and there's never any admins on any of the servers. Only admin I ever saw was on a power trip and kicking pretty much anyone that killed him more than once
I figure all the smarter players have given up playing on public servers by now.
So you guys going to play anymore or have you moved on like everyone else?

For me the game just got old quick. I got sick of the maps and then they released the map pack except it was the same maps just with new modes.
I am currently wasting my time in MOH until Black Ops comes out.
Currently Playing:
PC: BFBC2, MOH, COD: Black Ops

I stopped playing because there were no genuinely new maps. The Port Valdez conquest map was pretty cool, but not enough. Most everyone who played was pretty serious from about March-April to July.
I found the game really good, but it's not exactly BF2 either. It probably seemed so good at first because of the absolute dearth of solid PC games these days.

Like I have said many times in this thread I agree with you Adaman. I tried playing some of the single player yesterday, and I remind you my saved game files disappeared a while ago. It starts the intro and then the it just quits the game, tried about 5 times same thing every time. Biggest waste of $50 I have ever spent, well, its up there with The Force Unleashed.
Currently playing: Destiny. NHL 15. (ONE) Stronghold Crusader 2. KF2 (PC).

I got about 130 hours of game play out of it. So I got my money's worth however I agree, even 2-3 additional maps would of breathed a great deal of life into this game.
I played this game last night for about 30 mins, and it was just dull...I've unlocked everything gotten 90% of the badges, awards, etc there is like a 2-3 that I haven't gotten.
Making it to the next rank just takes so long (150,000 points) on an avg of 3k a game that's 50 rounds, at an avg of 30 mins a round that's 25 hours of game time...For a game that is pretty much dud. Also I was overviewing the ranks etc and it was like 1,500 people were rank lvl 35 and the next rank was like 400 and I think that's because it just gets dull.
I'm rdy for black ops!

The most fun part of the game is getting new weaponry and such. As you approach levels 30-35, it starts to get dull. I'm definitely going to buy the Vietnam expansion. The game is definitely fun, but not...indefinitely.

This is what sort of happened to me as well, once I had every weapon and perk "unlocked", the game got kind of boring for me.
I was looking forward to the Vietnam xpac, but unfortunately with that releasing after CoD:BO, I don't see myself getting it now.

I was pretty bummed to hear that levels and unlocks carried over to Vietnam, and that there will be pretty much nothing to work for to unlock. If you've unlocked everything in Vanilla, then you'll get all of the unlocks immediately for Vietnam.

That's pretty lame IMO, and coupled with the fact that CoD:BO and WoW: Cataclysm will probably be released before BF: Vietnam, I no longer see myself picking this up. Maybe one day when its in the Steam bargain bin for $2.99.

Anyone else doing a lot worse with the recent patch?
I really dont see the need of them rebalancing so much of the game at this point of time. I feel like I am relearning the game all over again...not fun.
