I just spent a couple hours familiarizing myself with MapTool and it looks like this could be a pretty damn solid little tool.

What I'd like to do is run everyone through a published adventure called Keep on the Shadowfell. If the lot of you have already run through this adventure I can find something else but if it's just one or two of you... keep any details to yourself and remember that your character doesn't know what you know. Likewise, if you're unfamiliar with this adventure, please don't go looking up details as you'll just spoil the fun for yourself!

If you guys would like, I can have Monday's session be a sort of training ground where we run through a small dungeon crawl that will last a few hours but get everyone familiar with the rules of D&D and the nuances of MapTool. If we do things this way and everyone is interested in going ahead with something that will take multiple sessions, then I'll set up the Shadowfell game and we'll take it from there.

I'm free all day Monday so if anyone is available to do this in the afternoon, that might work out for everyone. Please let me know what times are good for you on Monday and if you want to just jump into a long adventure or give it a test run with a quick dungeon crawl.

I vote that monday be a training session. It'll give us time to familiarize ourselves with the Rules (I'm rusty and Tim is new), try out our characters before we start the new campaign (we may want to tweak after a quick run), and it could even act like a prologue on how our team first meet.

    What do you all think?
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Sounds good since I am done before 7 PST / 10 EST. Now should I go Sorcerer or Ranger for my Striker?

Training session would be great. I started to mess around with the character creator and want to go with something that I normally don't do, which is a cleric type class. Dwarf will be my race, Longshanks will be my surname

Sounds like we have a defender and leader.
    Sweet!

Would be awesome to get another person for a 4 player party + 1 dm.

We need to come up with a solid time we could play! I've got one friend who might be joining us and I'm going to see if I can convince Astros Fan to play too.

Monday works for me, Sounds like mid or earlier Monday might be good. This might sound nuts, but what about Monday morning? I'm on the west coast, so i'm fine with 9am Monday which would put you guys in the afternoon.

Below is a character background that I put together for my Longtooth Ranger. Taggart and I discussed some aspects of linking our characters, but I am all for connecting to others as well.

I also attached my character sheet**. I found that I ran out of money due to my choice of bastard swords. I used every gold piece and didn't purchase an adventuring kit. Maybe getting that could be worked in somehow since I don't feel that I purchased anything in excess.

Let me know what you guys think:
Ashen Stormcloak is a Shifter (Longtooth) Ranger that uses a pair of Bastard Swords and was raised in an urban setting in the city of ______ with an interest in artifacts of historical significance and relevance. Ashen began attending the local University at a young age compared to his peers in hopes to one day explore the world and discover great things.

Due to his average intellect and lack of funds, Ashen was forced to spend his time studying and was unable to explore much on his own. During his grad-work studies, he finally had the chance to embark on a few expeditions. On the second of which his group of archeologists discovered Tock. Professor ______ decided to take Tack under his wing to help each other. Tock became the muscle of the next couple of expeditions.

Ashen then graduated as an established Archeologist and decided to begin traveling the world. He had not been gone but a short time before Tock searched him out and informed him of the untimely demise of Professor _____ and his other companions. Ashen and Tock have decided to search for clues to Tock's past and seek those that have done them wrong...maybe even getting some ancient exploration done in the process.

**I can't figure out how to attach my sheet. I don't see the "paperclip" in advanced mode, as mentioned above. Could it be a permissions thing? Although it could be due to being so tired. I am off to bed.**

The paperclip should be located in the message box top ortion where allt eh font and link choices are. It's next to the smilies button.

I should have my back story done by today.

In addition to what Urchin has posted, I have details about my character's past and choice of profession.

Left of my "smilies" button is "color" and to the right is "undo" and "redo." I am tempted to post it elsewhere and link to it.

Hmm, it's possible that attachments are only unlocked for a user after a certain post count.

Do you use Dropbox? I know Taggart does, but if you do not, grab it using my ref link and we can set up a shared folder for everyone to drop their characters into.

I guess it could be post count, but any idea on what post count it would be? As for Dropbox, I haven't ever used it before, but I downloaded it and put my character in my public folder.

**Edit: Here is a link to the character in my dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8722153/Ashe...ormcloak.dnd4e

Here is my character http://www.mediafire.com/?yzjyxqoegmo. I still need to come up with a background, but could you check it over and make sure I didn't do anything stupid? This was my first character, so I'm sure I messed something up.

I didn't understand totally what I needed to buy so I had 24gp left over. SewerUrchin said he needed more money, so I can give him some .
