Guess what I found to be a MAJOR cause of system slowdown...

...my Thrustmaster DualPower controller. I've been noticing that my system slows down to a crawl at times during games, and my 3d Mark 2001 scores have been hurting for some reason. In the performance menu in the Task Manager, I see that the CPU usage stays around 50% even when the system is idle. So I unplug my DualPower from the system...and BINGO! My 3d mark 2001 score jumps about 1500 points! My CPU usage drops to an average of 5-10% when the system is idle! Anybody else have a Thrustmaster Dual Power and notice major system slowdown? I believe I have the latest drivers installed for it and the latest version of ThrustMapper. Could this just be a problem of the controller or is there a conflict with Windows XP?
