Exclamation Benchmark your PC using Photoshop

get out your stopwatch...

Apple claims a powermac is 90% faster than a PC in photoshop while www.robgalbraith.com says the opposite. post YOUR results and we'll see.

download the Bill of Rights.jpg

I know they are already jpeg so some of these tests might seem a little wack-

Photoshop tests:
Bill of Rights: 8636x9096 us_bill_of_rights.jpg

1. open the file- 4.12 seconds
2. Convert jpg to tiff (save as)- 18.45 seconds.
3. rotate 180- 25.55 seconds
4. apply gaus. blur 2.0px- 19.09 seconds
5. sharpen image- 14.20 seconds
6. Neon glow: glow size: 5, brightness: 15- 34.31 seconds
7. resize to 1024x1256- 10.3 seconds.

total time: 126.02 seconds

tests were done by going back to the original .jpg before the next test was conducted.

I haven't heard a claim like that from Apple for some time and I don't see it in the article. Its probably 5 years since that was true in even the loosest sense of the word. What apple used to do was base that claim off a SINGLE test. They'd run 10 different tests and if the apple lost in 9 of 10 they'd say the apple was faster then put some fine print at the bottom of the page to say what it was faster at.
