Dorm room setup! (pics included)- 56k beware!

Hey y'all, thought you might want to see how I set up my dorm room (for all you future college students out there). Just to give you a sense of scale- the room is roughly 13x11, and is a single (larger than most singles here). All pictures taken with a Canon S400 and resized:

First picture: Dell 2000fp in the center, with three of the 5 speakers on the ADA 995s visible. MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 on the right, with a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad wrapped around it (kinda hard to see). Desk lamp in the back right. MX700 w/ Everglide giganta optical smoke, beside the keyboard (listed in the sig). Another desk lamp and a set of Senn 497s on the left:

Second picture: Wider view (the rest of the stuff I'll list before their respective pics). Thought you might want to see what I'm sitting in though (desk chairs are KEY).

This picture has the TV (Daewoo 20" flat tube) and VCR (Sharp 4-head stereo), as well as the fridge and the printer. Vacuum on the far left, gotta keep the room clean! Oh yeah, and one of the floor lamps for good lighting. 1 of 2 armoires partially shown.

The next picture has the under the desk view. Lots of wires! There's a D-link DI-614+ for extra security ($30 after rebates). The tower is on a stand (with a mini-slinkee that got move right afterwards- that's the random colors under it), and the receivers for the keyboard, mouse, and a CF drive on top of it. And of course, the sandals and trash can.

Shown here: paper shredder and air filter. The filter is sitting on the subwoofer. Some cds and stuff are in the picture too.

Microwave, fan, and lamp, along with a comfy chair for visitors...all the good stuff. Also in there: alarm clock, cordless phone, and the left rear speaker. Floor lamp 2 as well.

Speaker 3, floor light 3, and armoire 2. Just giving you the complete picture.

And now for decorations! A "Raphael- The School Of Athens" poster, and a bunch of framed record albums- The Jimi Hendrix Experience- Are You Experienced?, Disraeli Gears- Cream, Grateful Dead- American Beauty, Queen- Live Killers, a random Rolling Stones one that I'm blanking on, Beatles- Revolver, and The Who- Who Are You. Also (visible in the picture before)- Santana- Santana.

This concludes the tour of my room...hope you enjoyed!

Is that a Dell I see?!?

Enjoy your first semester man! I had a good time in the dorms but I'm glad I have my own place now. Your room looks really nice btw, especially since you got a single. I know a few guys on the CC/Track team there, U Penn has an All-American (1:48 for the 800).

btw, nice The Who poster, they rock

Yep, it's a dell. 3rd semester actually, as I'm a sophomore (the single at that size was a planned move )

It's not just a poster either...it's the album itself (the cover, although the acutal LP happens to be in it...I had fun raiding my dad's collection for the good stuff)

The two widescreen DVDs for LOTR are up there (including the one that only came out last week). There's also IJ & the last crusade on VHS, only have that one though.

And I go to UPenn.

I'm just relieved this isn't another Pokeman with vaseline set....

I wish I could dig up my old sophomore year single dorm room pics. I had my Apple IIc with an external 2400 baud modem. I was the toast of the floor for fellow engineers - we could do our Fortran homework on the VAX without trotting all the way to the computer lab.

Hehe, I did mention it over the picture...

And it's just there because it fell on the floor. Amazingly enough, the room is still quite clean after having been in it for a week, I didn't realize the slinky was there and didn't really want to bother retaking the picture (or photoshopping it out, which is wayyyy more effort than it's worth)

Not to sound like a jerk... But I find it utterly hilarious that you have a roll of toilet paper over your computer .
