SM cases rock 56k go away
I'm in the process of building another server and i picked up a Intel dual xeon mobo for "cheap". After doing some recearch on colocation for my new box in Ashburn, VA I relized it'd be easier/cheaper to use a rackmount case instead of a huge full tower(one time fee of 250 instead of an additional 50 dollar fee for each month that the machine was at the data center, If you have anysort of common sense you'll relize it would be cheaper to spend the extra money in the begining instead of selling your soul in peices).
Mobo Raid card The scsi Aray Almost complete box Minus the 2.6 xeons and gig of ram, that'll be Tomorrow after SAT <gulp> So inconclusion Intel SE7500CW2 LSI Megaraid 1500(4channel) + 64 sdram REG 3 18gig 10ks raid 5 2.6 xeons x2 1gb of ram ecc reg pc2100 Super Micro SC742 2 10mb/s connections Gentoo Linux 2.4.20-xfs-r3 (SMP) Now i know what your thinking, why do i need all of this juice. Well, I'm going this is going to be my East coast expansion of www.xomar.com . The server will be serving Several DBS, Several websites, Dozens of Ventrillo servers, and Several HL/BF servers. Now its off to homecomming :\
