Freelancer people, let me introduce you to a mod...

SEE UPDATED POST BELOW FOR LATEST FILE DOWNLOAD ver. 3.4!

http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/130326.shtml

You will need the Freelancer mod manager, get it here:
http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/foru...er+MOD&M=False

Get the latest patch for the mod here:
http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/down...oad.asp?id=836

This mod adds a lot, nearly everything is changed or updated. New ships from Star Trek, Babylon 5, Star Wars, Homeworld, Freespace, Battlestar Galactica, and so many more trust me it's a LOT! They also added tons of weapons, guns, turrets, missiles, cluster missiles, rockets, mass drivers. The ship is more customizable, new engine parts, engine blocks, thrusters, shields, tracker beams, scanners, etc. The singleplayer is a much better game now. The AI is better as well. They actually use their nanobots and shield batteries, this alone changes the gameplay greatly. I hear you can buy capitol ships as well, but I haven't gotten that far... I can't wait! They also made different jobs so there is more variety.

If you have Freelancer and thought it got old pretty fast I can't recommend this mod enough.

well in all honesty, they might be in the rebalance mod. They've added so much and I haven't seen much of it yet. I haven't gone outside Liberty space yet (earlier missions) so I can't wait to see what the other places have in store.

My last ship was a Scion Heavy Fighter (Battlestar Galactica) with TIE fighter engines. Now I'm roaming around in a Starfury (B5) and kicking *** with my mass-driver guns (oh so deadly).

The newest version of the fantastic Rebalance Mod has arrived. There are a total of 163 custom ships, tons of custom equipment and weapons such as the Liberty CARG Laser cannon, Heavy Ion Blaster, Bretonia Quark cannon, the Molly Redviper and Blackviper Tachyon cannons(classes 6 and 7). There is the Kusari "Hyperphoton" Blaster, the Blood Dragon's "Dragon Breath" Laser Cannon with new sounds, the Star Trek Phasers, Federation, Romulan, Dominion and the SW Rebel and Imperial Blasters. The Rheinland Pulsar cannon class 9 and Silver Fires WP weapons: mass drivers, customized cluster missiles, and so on.Systems populated by Michael, Iowa - 7 bases, Illinois - 3 bases, New Jersey - 2 bases and Carolina - 1 base.
Also the Alaska System gate is opened, Prison Station Mitchell is an active base and the Juneau shipyard becomes a live military complex with 2 R&R bases, 3 shipyards and 2 Industrial bases (depots, like Detroit Munitions).

I usually play Freelancer when I'm downloading a lot of stuff. Since it's mainly singleplayer and doesn't really take up too many resources it's fine to go trading or bounty hunting. Right now I'm trying to think of an excuse to tell my clanmates on why I won't be playing BF/DC/EoD tonight so I can get a better ship in Bretonia.

Yes, I'm an uber-geek!

When freelancer came out one of my friends and myself had a LAN and played through the entire game in 12 hours and earned all the best gear. Good times, good times.

I did the same thing, only it was over the net.

Come to think of it, I never even played the single player game.
