WoW question: chinese farmers or bots?
In WoW (I suppose other MMORPG also), there are players (at least that's whay I think they are) that sell things pretty cheap. But the strange thing is you cann't get them to talk, you PM them with something and the only answer you get is the price of the product.
Example: me: what is that item for? player: 5g me: I just left the city do you have more? player: 9g me: your price is 300% more expensive than in the Auction House payer: 10g WTH or are they bots that only have a trigger that say the amount and if you say yes they go and fetch you by inviting you to a group (this is common to invite someone to your group when selling/buying becasue it's a LOT easier to find someone when they are in the same group and don't have to find him when there are other 200 players right there, after the transcation, you leave group. I hear they are chinese farmers? My guess it's just a term for people selling cheap things or are they actually chinese people selling?? Sometimes it's so stupid it gets annoying. I can understand if it's a bot, but if it's a person LEARN ENGLISH!! If you are connecting to a american server at least know how to write. So are they bots or people?

Well I think either is possible. With the amount of mods available there are probably a few which are less than legal and do what you think they do.
I also totally agree with you about the language thing, sometimes i have more luck talking to my dogs than to a player in the game. You get single word responses, which don't make sense half the time.

Wait, even if it was a bot it would still have to run off a persons computer that in turn must connect to the WoW server to play. So it would have ping just like anyone else. It would have little to no ping if the bot itself was actually running off of a blizzard server right?
So checking the ping wouldn't reveal anything.

~Whisper: Buy gold at %%!@%$.com for only 10usd for 1000g!
Hate this crap. Chinese farmer- person whom camps named mobs (elites) for Blue/Epic items. Also applies to raid dungeons. Usually does not talk to you, and may be a "bot"*. *Bot- Person running illegal macros and/or programs that allow for unmanned gameplay. Leave the computer running and in game player keeps "farming" or killing mobs purely for money/items. In the end they end up selling a stack of 20 wool for 29g in AH, yes 29G! Stupid ****ers. |

I know in FFXI, the japanese people wrote bots that would fish for them. My friend downloaded one, and got caught for it and was suspended for two weeks.

Haha. They aren't bots silly. They are farmers! Bots would be WAY more expensive. The Chinese cost nothing.
The amount of Chinese farmers in WoW is somewhat disturbing. You have to wonder what portion of the game they actually make up. Is it sad that the gold coin in WoW is worth as much as the Chinese Yuan, maybe more? Isn't it something like 5 Gold to the Dollar and 8 Yuan to the Dollar? |

The thing I find funny is the fact that there are economies based solely on a VIDEO GAME...
I'm sorry but some people have got to get out and see the sunlight...or even....::gasp:: GET INTO A RELATIONSHIP
