Looking for HTPC setup for my master bedroom...
Well I am in the market for some new things, I just picked up a 50" panel to hang on my wall, however I do not have a multimedia setup for that display.
I am looking for... 1. Speakers (Fronts, Rears, Center, Sub) 2. Receiver 3. Mounting hardware Any suggestions would be appreciated

I would suggest an onkyo reciever. Whats your budget for this?
And for budget speakers I would recommend www.htd.com. The performance to cost ratio on these things is amazing. I have a set of level 3s and they are awesome. Since you plan on mounting on the wall you might check out the flat panel speaker line. |

I have about $3000 to spend on the accessories, but wanted to see what else to get
So I am pretty open. I dont want overly large speakers as they will take up more room then I want to provide.I have been looking at the Infinity P150? or so bookshelf.

I'm not a huge fan of infinity myself. I think you end up paying a lot of money for the name, but thats just me. They are pretty nice speakers though.

I've been doing a lot of research on this front recently too. I've pretty much settled on the Onkyo 804 -- killer system for the price. The Yamaha 5990 is close, but it's gotten a couple bad reviews on reliability.
I can't help with speakers because I'm going for in-ceiling -- 3 pair, 1 center plus my existing subwoofer for real 7.1.

My other receiver is an Onkyo, so I did want to stick with the maker. I love it
![]() Not really a fan of Yamaha products, except their dirt bike :P

I am not interested in Bose, My family owned the 901 series when they were first released. Was not to pleased with it...
The Bose Wave Radio is actually pretty good. Any other suggestions on speakers? Bookshelf prefer?

Do yourself a favor and go check out Paradigm speakers! http://www.paradigm.com/
And check out Yamaha RX series of A/V receivers. I have a Yamaha RX-V657. They have a device they call YPAO; It uses a microphone that you locate where you will be listening from and the receiver calibrates itself. I only had to make a few minor tweaks after it ran.http://www.yamaha.com/yec/avreceiver...&CNTYP=PRODUCT YPAO info- http://www.yamaha.com/yec/technology...02521#t_202521 Here is a review of the RX-V659 It’s no secret, I thoroughly enjoyed this receiver. This is one of the few times I’ve found a product that I didn’t expect more from. Instead I couldn’t help but to be in awe of the intelligent blend of bleeding edge features mixed with excellent performance typically found in the more esoteric brands. Over the past few years, we’ve seen the amplifier sections in Yamaha receivers continually improving via more robust power reserves, lower amplifier output impedance, better linearity, and lower noise floors. The RX-V659 is truly an overachiever delivering much MORE than rated power and not hiccupping on 4 ohm loads as one would expect of any receiver in this price class. If you have been riding the sea of receiver options for the last couple of months or so, your ship has come in. I can’t think of a finer receiver in this price class. Kudos to Yamaha on such a well engineered and well executed product.
