MX1000 mouse problem with middle button.. how to fix?

just wondering I have the MX1000 laser mouse.

my middle button doesn't work like it use to more. I think it started a few days ago.

I would have to press the middle button in hard to get it to register the button press.
(normally I push it lightly and feel the "click" and it would be good) now when I press it in and feel the click it doesn't get registered.

I have to push it in harder pass the click to get it to work..

any one know a way I can fix it?

Not really... but Logitech is pretty good with warranty replacements.
I'd check their support website first to see if this is a common issue with your model and then go from there.

If you RMA, Logitech will send you a new one and usually doesn't ask for the original back. It's quick and simple.

Just an FYI, if Logitech does do an RMA they may not send you the MX1000. If they still have any of the MX1000 in stock you will get one but if they don't, they will send you a comparable model. I have the MX1000 but haven't had any problems with it at all. I'd do as proxops-pete suggested and check out the Logitech support site. They have been known to help at times.

Yeah, Logitech is great about RMA. I have a new G15 keyboard on the way - first batch had paint rubbing issues - and they didn't want the old one back. Granted, it's not worth a whole lot given that some keys have the paint pretty messed up, but I could fix that if I wasn't lazy and have two G15's.

they are definitely out of MX1000 my friend called about a replacemetn a month ago and they say the no longer have them in stock..

I like the mouse and don't want to get the Bluetooth version hearing how it is unreliable and I don't want to install any BT drivers.

I have it as part of my mx3100 and is quite happy with the 1000.

wow, I have the mx3100 too and my mx1000 middle button is doing the exact same thing. I thought I was just imagining things, as it sat in a box while I was moving for a month. I thought it felt different afterwards. Looks like it might not be an isolated incident.

Did you try pressing down & rolling the wheel? Maybe it's dirty or something...I dunno. If mine acts funky again, I'll probably try to RMA it.

I don't think it's dirt becuse I tried opening int and air blowing it and it seems pretty clean. put it back together and seems to be the same..
