Post Monitor won't shut down, when I shut down the pc!!

I just bought a new PC, and I have the following problem:

When I turn off the pc (using start|shut down), the pc turns off normally
But... the monitor won't go off: There's a message on the screen saying that there's no inpu or something... What can this be??
It isn' t the monitor, because it worked with the previous PC!

pls help
Gert

this just means the monitor is no longer receiving a signal from the computer (because its shut down) and u can just turn it off. it will usually go into powersave mode after a while (orange light) dependign on what monitor it is. you can either leave it or turn off the monitor, just make sure to turn it back on when you start your pc again.

You should get some kind of Power Control Strip and plug monitor and any external devices you have ie printer, scanner, etc. That way when you shutdown (Start/ShutDown) after the CPU turns off you can then turn the power strip off...

but then you would be draining your BIOS CMOS battery, and once the battery is dead you have to reconfigure your entire BIOS.

nothing will drain the battery of the comos besides the internal clokc that is keep keeping it on at all tims inside and make sure that you bios data is saved next time you boot on. anyother deviced won't be draining from your battery. If so your battery will be long dead.
