Hello,
I have a Rio 800. What a nifty gadget. I am wondering if anybody has a PC utility that will allow me to read MP# from the Rio. All of the stuff I have only aalows me to send to the RIO. I want to save the Tracks that came with the rio to my PC. |

hehe - i'm wondering myself. I dont know of any such utility. Extracting tracks from the portable to the PC would be pretty darn useful though.

There has to be a way to do that. Are you sure you tried every option with the software that came with your rio. BTW I don't own a rio so I don't know what software you get. But I am pretty sure that there is a way to do it.

You could do it with the earlier Rio players but I think it all changed with the 800 maybe even the 600. It only allows you to save recorded messages off the 800 (you can't do anything but delete mp3's.
I have tried a couple of 3rd party utilities and the closest I got was one that said 'Future' on the save option. Its not a big deal at the moment as I am currently working in the USA and don't have much free time anyway. I'll chase it up again when I get back to Australia in a couple of weeks. Technobill |

Yep, they're right... it DOESN'T WORK with the 600 or 800. Just the way they set it up.

The only way I have been able to do it is to simply hook up the rio to the line in on my PC and re-record the stuff. Thats a crappy alternative as it obviously will degrade, but I guess thats all we have for now.
I am still looking. I will post if I find anything. Hey I might even send a message to sonicBlue and see if I get a reply. |
