Unhappy Pleez Help - AOE 2

    Hi all,

I have a problem with AOE2 , every now and then my Advance buttons for
commanding Infantry, etc. disappear and then later (several levels later)
reappear. I have tried reloading under under both Win 2K & Win 98 SE with
the identical problem under all resolutions. Is there some Ctrl combo I'm
    inadvertently hitting??

I am desperate because the Hotkeys don't work either (i.e. 'D' doesn't make
the unit Defend) and this is absolutely horrible 'coz my units wonder
    around and get wiped out!

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    My system:

    Creative GeForce 256 Pro
    Intel P III 450MHz
    ABIT BE6 M/B
    Sound Blaster Live! Value
    256 MB 100MHz RAM
Creative Encore 2X DVD Decoder Card
    HP 8210 CD-Writer
    Creative 5X DVD Drive
    Quantum 8.4 GB U-ATA 66 HDD
    Western Digital 4.3 U-ATA 66 HDD
    MAG Innovision DJ707 Monitor
    Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer

I'm not sure I understand what is disappearing. You mean the button to enable advanced commands has disappeared? Or something else?
