Question Quake 3 and NTFS in win2000

I just converted my scsi-drive to NTFS from Fat32 - and now quake3 won't run. Win2000 gives the usual error message "Quake 3 has generated errors and will be closed" - I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but it still won't work. I've also tried installing it on my other harddrive which is fat32 formatted but that does not help either. Any suggestions? Here is the error log from Dr. Watson:

    Application exception occurred:
    App: (pid=900)
    When: 27-11-2000 @ 02:39:32.351
    Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

    Thanks in advance!

this may not help, but i do know that the game will run under ntfs, because i have windows 2000 and q3 runs perfectly fine. maybe there was an error when you converted the drive, maybe it is hardware, but i am sure it isn't because of ntfs.

Yeah, I play quake3 on NTFS under win2k all the time, no problems. You must have something else going on there. Any other programs not work now? Other than games and the like?

I had similar problems with my pc when I converted my drive from fat32 to ntfs in win2k. I kept getting errors in most of the programs I had installed, and nothing I did seemed to fix it. I ended up having to reinstall win2k, and used ntfs from the start. After doing this, everything worked fine.
