cpus old and new
I was just curious some of the main things that distinguish one from the other not including speed like how does the celeron compare to the pentium II I know its a crippled PIII (or thought I did)
here are some of the ones I am curious about not sure of other variations or cyrix
pentium II
celeron
Pentium III (katamai coppermine)
athalons (original tbirds palaminos)
Pentium 4 (wilmette northwood)
detailed answers are great
I know this questions has probably been answered in various forms in the past but I think it would be nice to have it all in one post to benefit others who are curious and might not ask
thanks in advance

Are you looking for comparisons between generation (ie 486, P5, P6), families (AMD’s X86 processors vs Intels X86 processors) or intergeneration (PII, vs PIII, vs Celeron)?
The type of comparison you want makes a big difference

Umm, but a lot of people here could end up writing for a couple of days on any of these subjects...
...fortunately for you, one poster regularly does this (or at least it seems that way).
Try searching for posts by Arcadian, on your topics.
