Join the Sharkyextreme.com 3DMark Team
We've got The Cooler's Guild, theres the OC Crusaders, but where's the 3dmark team? I'm quite surprised no one has posted there thoughts about creating our own 3dmark team. Or they have and I just don't know about it. I think this would be a terrrific idea!!
Mods, is it alright representing Sharkyextreme? Please post your thoughts in this thread.
UPDATE: Ok, I'm assuming this is alright since I have not heard any objections from mods/admin.
Anyone is allowed to join. All you have to do is download 3dmark 2001/SE from madonion, run the program, and post your results in the ORB. When you publish the score for the benchmark, type in your user name followed by Sharkyextreme.com 3DMark Team.
Example: Pyro's - Sharkyextreme.com 3DMark Team
Overclocked and nonoverclocked scores can be published, but the goal of the 3dmark team is to publish your highest scores possible in the ORB. So overclock to the MAX!!
I'm starting to work on a website that would contain everyone's scores. If anyone would like to helpout with the database or has his or her own ideas that would make the site better, feel free to post in this thread or PM/email me. It will probably take a week to create the website. At first it might look somewhat plain. The goal is to get the website up and running first, then I'll add constant upgrades to the layout.
Heres the info I need from you for the website/database:
CPU - Make, model, FSB, multiplier, and voltage settings. Voltages setting are not necessarily needed. I just like the idea of detailed specs so comparisons would be easier and more accurate.
Motherboard - Make and model.
RAM - Make, model, voltage, and speed its currently running at.
Video card - Make, model, voltage, and clock speeds.
Operating system - Obvious...
Cooling - What CPU heatsink fan? Any modified video cooling? You get the idea.
Score, compare link, and anything else you'd like to add.
I 'll only publish default 3dmark settings on the website. So please don't send any 20,000 800x600 16 bit scores. This is for US, so lets keep it fun and simple.
What are you waiting for, start benching!!!

I would like to see this happen as much as you do... i am suprised no one else has tried already, this is a great idea even for the guys (like i was up until yesturday) without the top of the line systems but still wanna see where they compare to others with the same, or close to the same specs. And, it makes it easier to ask specific people from the forums how they got the scores

I'll definitely post my scores when I get a few things I'm planning on (i.e. better vid cooling, new CPU and HSF). I'm hitting around 10,000 with my current setup at stock speeds, but that will hopefully change soon... I'm surprised there isn't already a 3dmark team here, too - good call.

shurleydude, You CPU and VGA are clocked lower than mine and your only afew hundred points away. I better think of something drastic.
hehe yeah... i'm just gonna leave it where i'm at...too scared to go any higher really... Tried running 3dmark at 3.2 ghz and the r9700 pro at 357/330 but the damn card failed and system rebooted, was on nature too it's not real cold yet here in virginia, so i'm guessing if i leave it off at night and do it in the morning and it's somewhat cold I could probably get a successful mark at those speeds. oh just a q, what temps do you get running that high on stock cooling?

The CPU is running 16 C before the benchmark and 29 C after. I crack open the window and place my computer right next to it with a 1ft x 1 ft fan sitting inbetween on the window seal blowing the 40 degree temps from outside directly onto my motherboard.
