    Video Card Upgrade???

    Hello, I have been wondering about something. I would one day like to upgrade my Laptop vid card if possible. Is there anyway to do this??? Haven't ever heard of people upgrading Laptop parts often, but I would love to slap an ATi Radeon to-go or whatever its called in there. Maybe even a GeForce 2 GO mmmmmmm. Anyways, I was just wondering where, if anywhere, I could pick one of these bad boys up. Also, how do I check to see if my notebook even supports it. Thanks

    most laptop parts are indeed soldered onto the motherboard which is why you dont hear about people swapping parts often

    it is not likely you could buy a do-it-yourself kind of thing - if anything you may have to send it back to the company who made it, for an upgrading, that is, if its possible for your model to swap parts

    Laptops are a unit. There is little you can do to upgrade. Mpost components are part of a board that is quite expensive to replace.

    It really depends on the specific model that you're talking about, but generally laptop video cards are integrated into the motherboard.

    Never once heard of a laptop with any swappable parts..
    although older IBM lappy's used to have upgradable cpu's....(earlier PII era)

    alienware ahve started a program where they will upgrade parts of your (alienware) laptop. you only need to pay the price of the parts, not the labor.
    I am not sure if vid card is one of these parts

    Check out the Dell support forums. Some of the dell laptops have upgradeable video card support (GF2 Go, GF4 etc..).

    I have a dell inspiron 2500, and it shares 2 MB of system memory, and I have the option of buying a 4 MB chip to put in there that would supposedly improve performance
