    RAM for a laptop

I would like to buy some more RAM for a DELL Inspiron 2500 laptop.
but I am unsure as to whether or not the RAM I am looking at would work in it or not. When looking at all of the various DIMMs I see things like 8*16 or 16*16. Is this the chip arrangement on the DIMM or is it something else. I wonder because sometimes the numbers multiply out to be how many MB the DIMM is supposed to be and other times it does not.

Thank you for your time guys

Visit a site such as www.crucial.com to use their memory configurator. Then you'll know what chip configuration will work in your computer. You can also read the computer manual.

Or, you could buy it through dell. They have a 20% off all peripherials this weekend, and free shipping I believe. That'll probably be cheaper, and you're guarenteed that it'll be compatible.
