Simple Newbie Question Re DVD Burner vs Regular CD/DVD Rom Drive

I just ordered a Sony DRU510A OEM for the system I'm putting together and am wondering if I still need to get a regular CD/DVD Rom drive for such purposes of installing operating systems and other applications? I guess my question is: does the Sony also play the role of a regular cdrom or dvdrom drive for reading data?

Thanks in advance for any input!

That drive will read data just fine, so you'll be able to install stuff, watch movies, or whatever. If you'll be doing a lot of CD-to-CD or DVD-to-DVD copies, you may want to consider a second drive or else you'll be doing a lot of disc swapping: read image from source disc, swap, then write to blank media. Other than that, you'll probably find the single drive to be perfectly adequate.
