Splitting Component Video?

Hey all,
Just curious - can you take a 'basic' RCA-type 'splitter' and use that on component outpus?

Here's my situation - my company has two flat-panel televisions in a conference room and they want to get a DVD player for it, but I am not sure if they want it hooked up to both televisions, so I need to find out what my options are.
Basically, I was thinking I could use splitters on the outputs on the DVD player and run one set of component cables to each TV.
Would it work?

That will most likely result in unviewable displays from low signal levels.

Are there video-in and video-out ports on the displays. If so you can slave one display from the other.

I dunno - I'll have to check. There are 'Inputs', of course, but I'm not certain about 'Outputs'.

So what do places like Best Buy use when they are playing a 'loop' from a DVD player?

Do they want to watch both displays at once or just be able to switch the DVD output to either TV? I had to do this in my home theater.

This will do what you need using only component cables and will feed two TVs at a time. They other way to go is...

The VGA splitter will amplify the signal and will carry component over VGA to two displays. The problem is you'll need VGA to Component cables for the input (DVD to splitter) and for both televisions (splitter to TV's). If the budget allows I'd go with option #1 although option #2 works well also. I used that setup for a bit until I decided to drop the cash on a proper component switching unit.

BTW to answer your original question, no that will not work. You'll get so much signal loss in the split that you'll only get a garbled mess on the screen if you try to watch it.
