    Apple releases 24" iMac

    www.apple.com/imac

And among other things, they stuck in Core 2 Duo in them and dropped the price on them even more ($999).

You know how I said a few times that I'd only buy an iMac when they slap in the C2D?

    ...Yeah.

    That's hot. Is the 24" resolution 1920x1200?

    EDIT: ooooo...yes it is.

You guys seem to be missing the fact that the 24" iMac is $2000. iMacs simply START at $999 (for the 17" model).

Man, those are pretty good prices, especially at the low end. $1K ($900 after educational discount) is pretty cheap to get a decently nice computer.

I think you can exchange it within two weeks if there is a hardware update as long as it's not a BTO.

I think they are using notebook like PCi16x slot...

I think Dell is IN DANGER... he cant go near Imacs for home PC NEVER at these prices

    Dont worry

if u look at the 17 inch model WITH X1600 graphics it is the same as yours 100% nothing is changed just the CPU.

U can upgrade your Yonah to a 2.3 MEROM any time u wish....
    it is the same socket!

it is just u lost 100$ on cpu.. thats all...

infact ur CPU is UPGRADABLE... upto 2.33 MEROM (which is used now in new imacs)

just put it inside wghen 2.3 price go down..

They can return it, I was on my last day of the return cycle yesterday and so I did. I would have exchanged it if the Apple Stores wouldn't be getting it in until Friday :/

This may be a stupid question, I've been out of the loop for quite some time now. Does this mean we can now build a computer from components and just slap Mac OS on it and it will work? I guess drivers might be a problem. Are there any lists of hardware that is known to be supported?

But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything."
