    e8500

I am looking for a halfway cheap and easy way to get some added performance on my pc. Even though it is probably overdue I really don't want to do a major upgrade at the moment. I can put a 8500 on my motherboard and continue to use everything else--whereas if I get the new processors I have to change motherboard, memory, etc.

Any opinions on this? My specs are in my sig. I am not a hardcore pc gamers. I do play WOW and Team Fortress although will probably pick up Starcraft if it comes out this year.

You could get a quad core...but unless you do anything that needs more cores it might be a waste. If you want a dual core, I wouldn't drop the extra money for an E8500, just get the E8400.

Sorry for a late addition but yeah, I agree with Nater.. just wait... your current hardware is fine for your games... anything more would be a waste...

+1 You won't get any real improvement -- save the money toward a new system.
