Creative Labs Inspire 5700 speakers review
I ordered them Tuesday and just got them in today.
Damn, they're nice. I've only had Altec Lansing speakers for the past five years, so that's what I've been used to.
Honestly, the sound from the speakers is a bit different from what I'm used to, coming from the Altec Lansing 4.1 speakers, ACS56 I think. They had a bit more bass to them, which is good and bad.
The 5700's seem to have a much clearer sound, much more tight and distinct than what I'm used to. I haven't tinkered with the settings yet, but the sound is somewhat flat. Not very noticeable or annoyingly so, though. The bass isn't overly bassy, and it's adjustable, too, which is nice, of course. The remote REALLY comes in handy, I love it! I turned the whole system up to as loud as I could legally go without my neighbor's calling the cops on me, and there was NO distortion. NONE. No hissing, nothin'. That amazed me.
The center speaker is wonderful, too. I hooked up the speakers via the optical cable to my Sony DVD player and damn, what a sound. The Phantom Menace sounds absolutely amazing on it.
So, in short, perhaps these speakers aren't for everyone, but they're definitely for me. 9 outta 10.
