Hey All,
I am relatively inexperienced in Java. I have been learning it at Uni for 2 months. Haven't really done all that much! I wanted to know where the best places online are for tutorials. Also what Java book do you recommend? I was recommended Java: How to Program by Deitel and Deitel. What do you think of this book? Is it any good? Cheers A

"Thinking In Java" by Bruce Eckel is an excellent book. It's very detailed, yet an easy read.

I've found the 3rd edition of the Deitel and Deitel book extremely useful....It guides you from the basics of Java to database connectivity to GUI interface programing. I love it and it help me a hell of a lot during a Software Engineering class I took a year ago. It's definitely one of the best books on the market today.....
