Direct Play Game server????
I need some advise.......I would like to create my our game server for Motocross Madness 2 to host my own racing series. I don't want to use the Zone or Gamespy. How hard would it be to use Direct Play to right the code. I have some programming exp. in VB but nothing major. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction to get me started? Also if your a experenced in DX 7 or 8 and would consider helping I can make it worth your while.

Networking programming is a cumbersome, even under Direct Play. I didn't use Direct Play for long since Winsock32 seems to do the job. Networking programming is no easy job; if you insist, I say grab Microsoft's Inside DirectX book (if you can find one) or simply read the tutorials that come with DirectX SDK.
