Post Welcome to the new Cases and Cooling forum

Welcome, all, to the new Cases and Cooling forum. This forum was created in response to several requests that finally wore us down . So come on in and discuss your cases and cooling needs and interests.

Also, let me welcome our newest moderator, ynd69, who joins Mandorallen of Molynnr as the co-moderator of this new forum.

    Take care,

    Housen

Wow, nice one Housen. With OT gone, this is the least you could give us j/k.

This looks like a fun place to hang out. I look forward to regularing this forum and seeing all sorts of cool case mods.

Looks good I probably won't spend much time here as I am more interested in the processors themselves, but I am building a system in a few months and of course I will OC. This means I will certainly stop by for advice, and I will probably check things out once and a while just like I do in a few other forums.

    Congratulation/Welcome to MoM and YND69

Thanks, and congrats to ynd69, excellent choice.

Upgrading from that K6-2? What are you going to choose?

I want a DP Athlon system, but I'm not happy with the current motherboards. (No OC ability whatsoever!)

Waiting a few months should let me save a bit more money, allow the platform to stabilize and make faster Athlon MP's available.

It should make for an interesting cooling project, getting something that will cool both processors.

    That'd be a neat system.

Yeah I guess it would be better to wait a bit, when a nicely overclockable Palomino is released. Thankfully even if you can't get a good overclocking dual processor platform, there's always the bridges on the processors.

The current problem is the only motherboard available is a server motherboard. Lots of nice features, but expensive and no support at all for overclocking. You just don't overclock a server.

I wonder I can use a water cooler on a DP system?

I suppose you could but the way I understand it you're going to need either one powerful pump or two normal pumps, so that you're not passing warm water from the one block to the other.

You can run the processors of a dual processor motherboard at different speeds right? That'd be cool since you'd be able to get the max O/C out of both of them.

Yes, you could start up a thread for everyone to post their case mods I guess.

    Thannks guys.

Anyways I was thinking of upgrading to a desktop Palomino, but I wonder if it's really worth it. If there is much of a increase in performance, I might consider buying it...

Moridin, a DP Palomino setup would be sweet and water cooled would be even better

I am thinking of some pelts and voltage modding my mobo this September
