x: beyond the frontier

i'm at the start of the game and going to various stations and i can't shift any goods - "resources not sold" when i try. does anyone know what to do as the manual does'nt even cover how to trade.

Also, i have the 1.9b patch but i have to start the game in compatibility mode every time as i get illegal operation whenever i select 'use settings' so i have to redo my video/ audio options. any ideas?

i think in the beginning the only thing u can trade is oil (u have only 100 credits), it takes a loooong time 2 earn some money, when u have some money make sure you buy (i think it is called) s.e.t.a, it accelerate time. by the way the sound is crap due 2 directx 8.0
